sure, especially during the audition process. Sometimes you may have the talent to play a part but others could just fit the role better, I feel as if I've been marked down talent wise if I get put in a non important role like the chorus or a character with only 1 line or none at all. It doesn't mean you aren't talented it means that the director saw you in the show as that character. Many times I've lost confidence in myself that could have been used when showing the directors my auditions etc... That doesn't mean you don't try, when at first you don't succeed try try again.

of course, everyone in any field doubted his/her own ability at certain times. that's why we need people around us to give us mental support :)
