Question:I have auditions for my school production of Aladdin coming up on Monday. Has anyone ever been in/ seen the show? Also, any tips for auditioning would be appriciated. I am trying out for Jasmine. I chose Reflection from Mulan as my audition song, so that's taken care of. Any advice would be great! Thanks.

Reflection is the perfect song for that audition! Good choice!

Something I know a lot of people tend to do is read into what the auditioners do or say during their performance. That is the first rule of auditioning, never read into what they do or say to you. You may make them laugh or they may ask you questions about yourself or the piece you did but don't read into it. Not only will it save you from disappointment, but it will also save your sanity, you will never know what they were truly thinking until you see the cast list.

Remember, confidence is key! Shyness= black hole. Use lots of hand gestures, and make sure your stage presence is amazing. Sell yourself! Think "American Idol." Have fun with it and good luck!

Have fun first and foremost.
Do not get your heart set on just one role. Trying out for the lead is great but know that only one person can get it.

Practice in front of a mirror before your audition.

Lastly no matter what happens never say you did a bad job after the audition.

I was in Aladdin. We had three auditions: singing, acting, and dancing. I refused to do the singing, so I got the part of a townsperson. I was a better actor than the girl who played Jasmine (no one thought she was a good singer, either), but that's what happened when I didn't take a chance. I may regret it in the future.
I think Reflection is a good song for an audition. It can show how powerful your voice is, even though Disney songs can be incredibly cheesy. The only movies I like are probably "The Aristocats", "Lady and the Tramp", "The Lion King", "The Fox and the Hound," probably amongst a few others.
Anyway, I'm getting off subject. I don't have any advice. Just be yourself and try your hardest.
