Has anyone heard of John Casablancas modeling and talent agency?

Question:Has anyone had any success with them. Or are they just out to get your money. I signed my daughter up for an open call. She had to audition for a Nickeloden show. They said if the like her they will give me a call back time and she will need to come in for a 2nd audition. I would then call in to see if she made it. I called in and they said she's 1 out of the 15 children we like the most. But we do reccommend she take a few classes. Then 2 weeks later a lady called me asked if she could put her name on a guest list to audition for another show. I get there and the guy I seen a few weeks ago was there giving the same speech in the same clothes. I didn't meet with him I meet with a lady 2nd time around. She said is this your daughter 1st audition I said NO, she was here 2 weeks ago and they told me she needed to take some classes. She said oh well they probably say the same thing. I think they were out to get people money...need some insight on how this industry works..Thanks

Look up previous questions and answers about them as well, personally I've answered tons of them. Also FYI, they are NOT an agency no matter what they've led you to believe. Their come on is a front for expensive classes and photography tht you can get cheaper somewhere else. Please don't fall for their scam.

Go sign your daughter up at a local acting studio and start hacing her audition at community theatres to build a resume. You can also look into student and indie films. Check out backstage.com (casting search) and actorsaccess.com

STAY AWAY!! It is a scam. In fact they were investgated for fraud, and shut down for a little while. It's called bait and switch. I brought my daughter to what I thought was an audition. I got the speech about classes. Paid a bunch of money and got nothing from it. If an agency wants you they will make their money when you work. Usually at %15. They may ask for pictures. Which is reasonable. However if they insist on their photgrapher, find someone else. Stay away from these guys.

She wasn't really auditioning for a Nickelodeon show. John Casablancas is a school, not an agency. They do not handle casting for Nickelodeon or Disney. They just talk fast and hope people jump to certain conclusions---such as, she COULD be on a show for Nickelodeon and you'd better hurry up and give them money for lessons, now right now.
