Question:I want to break into acting. From the experience in school I really like acting. I want to be an actress I know, I know EVERYONE wants to be an actress or actor in hollywood but I am very serious. I have been to classes and all that stuff but I want to go beyond that. How would I go about this and how would I find representation?

I would just say to continue your acting and don't stop following your dreams not matter what anyone says. After you accomplish that then you could look for a manager that you like and is willing to help you become what you want to become. If you can't find a manager that you like just think about asking your parents if they could be your manager until you are seen by many people then you could get a good manager and become a good actress.

Hope This Helped :)

I Wish You Luck With Your Acting

head shots are a must.
open casting calls.
extra work on movie and tv shows.
Local theater to practice your skills.

Are you in Jr High or in High School? Are you close enough to a major city to attend weekly workshops or classes? Which city?

Learn screenwriting and write your own star vehicle. It doesn't have to be professionally produced, just an interesting story that highlights your strengths as an actress. Have some friends help you shoot it and upload it to Youtube as a series of short videos that can gain an audience and attract talent scouts.

Hey! I'm a 14 year old actress who has had 6 professional acting jobs, and countless amateur ones! My trick (I wouldn't get the jobs I do if I didn't know this) is to look at who you are in the play, make up an entire life story for them (even if it is a minor character or a walk-on!) and, for the week before the play become that character. Eat what they like, drink what they drink, speak like they speak, and dream their dreams. Become them. Also, practice in front of a mirror, work on dictation, and practice expressions. Head shots are a must, btw.

I agree with resume building- before my big break (Che's Mistress in Evita, 2 years ago) I had done so many minor parts, just things like "rain dancer 2" or "fairy 8". But they gave me experience. Also, years of music and dance (guitar, clarinet, piano, voice, tap, jazz, hip-hop, ballet, interpretive dance, and aerobics like yoga and palates) really help your resume look fabulous. Be out of the norm- not the typical, but not too weird either. And be yourself, and sincerely you. Best of luck, break a leg!
