Although most directors want to cast pople who strictly conform to their visions of a character, there is no reason why race should stop you. If you are considering something like high-school theatre, plays such as "Seussical" and "Alladin Junior" have no racial requirements; in fact, being bi-racial is a huge advantage in Alladin. Just try out for whatever you want; although some directors may not cawt you because you don't look exactly how they want, just keep trying. Good luck!

there really isn't a lot of roles that demand a certain type of race. you can audition for any role and have and equal chance at getting it then anyone else.
