Why would the director request that I wear the same clothes I auditioned in?

Question:I auditioned for a musical today and got a phone call telling me to atend callbacks on Monday. They also asked that I wear the same clothes I auditioned in today to the callbacks. Any idea why they'd ask this of all auditionees?

Possibly because it lhelps them remember who you were in the auditions.Directors see hundreds of actors, ,and,beleive me after a while they all seem to look alike. Sometimes, a face is not the most recognizable thing they remember sitting in the back row of a theatre, but they would remember what you wore.

That's a good sign. Because they are already seeing you IN COSTUME!

Don't worry about it. Just be sure you wear the same clothes, and be enthusiastic, positive, energetic, and charming so THEY will WANT you to be in their production, because they know YOU want to be.

maybe your ability to remember lines...If you remember what you wore than your lines...i don't know

your wardrobe when u auditioned looks god on you or makes good fit..which is what their looking for..

The director feels that it will help them to remember the people they selected in the first round.

Its called continuity.
A detailed script or scenario to avoid discrepancies from shot to shot.
Being able to take direction is important in this field of work I'm sure your aware of.
So be sure to wear the same clothes when asked to.

they do this so they remember you. it's a lot easier to remember you if you look the same. Ive directed before and its hard to remember all of the auditionees. if you were the same thing you are more likley to pop back into their hand when doing casting

HAS TO WEAR THE SAME CLOTHES
BECAUSE THEY WANT EVERYONE TO TRY OUT AGAiN THE SAME WAY THEY TRiED OUT THE FiRST TiME

That's not uncommon. If they like you the first time, you want to keep it the same for the callback. Maybe the color looked good on you.

Probably so they can help remember faces. Maybe because what you wore last time was what the character wore so he wants to see you again. Maybe because he wants to see you looking yourself????

Don't panic- i've been asked before- i still don't know why but it was perfectly natural and everyone else was.
