Position:Home>Theater & Acting> How do you audition for a movie or commercial role? (Like the process???) Or how

Question:like, what's a screen name.. and do you have to like, read a line and memorize it... etc. because we have these audition s at our mall and you have to walk down a stage even though you're not going to be a model AND memorize some random line.. but what's the real process? like, i know you have to get an agent.

First and foremost, any audition held in a mall would make me very suspicious!! Sound very cheesy! As an actor, I would not advise anyone to even bother with such "Audition events."

Also, before you even bother taking the advice of anyone on this forum, ask them what acting experience they have in the area you are wanting to know about. From what I read here, these answers reflect a total lack of real experience in the business....

There are three types of actors; Stage, film, and commercial. And each has a different process. I have done stage, some film work and lots of commercial work by choice! Of the three, commercial is the most challenging for many obvious reasons.

If you want a step by step rough guide to acting for commercials, then you need to get a copy of "An actor's field guide."

do a local play. it may seem crazy, but directers talk to each other. if your really good enough for a carreer in acting, it'll work

Just get an agent and everything will fall where it may
