Question:My friend is most likely going to audition for Les Miserables, but there's one thing. Would she need to be part of an equity if she was auditioning for the roles of Young Cosette and Young Eponine? This is the link for the audition.

It's true that if this is a national tour of Les Miz and is an Equity (union) show, it is unlikely she'll be seen. However, if there are slots available after all the union people have had a chance to sign up, it's not uncommon for non-union people to be seen. To be honest, with a show as popular as this one, the odds are very slim they'll be anything available. But you never know.

Yes they wont let her in without a card, if they do not get a heavy turn out they may open it for non equity actors, which means she can start getting points.

She may possibly have to joing Equity immediately. Or she may be able to be part of the EMC program and earn points towards becoming Equity withough having to join. Depends on the theatre and the contract.

Erm..I would be careful of this though...the only rights that are available for this show are for the JR version. The Broadway run has closed and I can find no mention of a tour starting. So how can this be an equity show when the rights aren't available and there's no US show on tour or on Broadway? These auditions sites do not always have the most legit info...if it's only a couple dollars, go ahead and pay it and check it out, but I would be very wary if they're asking for a bunch of money....

This is an Equity only call. They probably won't see her.
