Position:Home>Theater & Acting> How can I get as much acting experience and knowledge as possible?

Question:hi. Well I'm currently in my last year of school (so that would make me 15) and I absoloutely love acting. Icouldn't do drama at school but I'd love to take it up now and even pursue it as a possible career option. Is it too late for me because I know most actors went to stage school. Also I can't sing at all LOL. How do you think I should start? Lessons? Stage coach? Also, does anybody know any techniques I could use to practice on my own? Thanks so much in advance! =]

Hey, looks like I am in the same predicament. I am in the last yr of school, cudnt take drama, want to pursue it as a poss. career option and cant sing. As of now, go to college. I am too. And join one especially renowned in drama. Study theatre. In college you'll be bound to make loads of contacts with famous people in theatre if you're majoring in it. After completing at least a Bachelor's degree, use ur contacts and start ur career in films or in plays. I would like to jumpstart my career too but then look at teen queens like Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff etc who seem to be a bit .... you know, running out of options??? Learn acting in college, then do it. And keep in touch with me, we'll update each other lol... giaisacutie@gmail.com.... tc

lilcute hasn't a clue. going to college is not necessarily going to put you in contact with any well known actor. Go to university like Guildhall if you can pass the audition. Stage coach is an option you might try. There is no way to practice by yourself except memorize long speeches from Shakespeare and recite them aloud.
