How to act "chatty"?

Question:My director told me that I should act my part "b*tchy" and "chatty". Now my character is wanting something really bad from someone else, so I saw them as trying to be a suck up. But he told me b*tchy and chatty, which I'm guessing is probably different then how I"ve been doing it? Now obviously I know b*tchy, this means to be stuck up, snotty, and well b*tchy! Haha, any other ideas? But what did he mean by chatty? How could I portray these characteristics?

Hmmm..i'm thinking for "chatty"..is kind of like Elle Woods with a bitchy side..if you understand what I'm saying?
She would say alot of "like" and "omg" and chat..

Ooooo I just had a brain wave..lol..maybe okay the director means to just that particular person you want something from, you have to be chatty...like talk to them..see what they like..they don't like..that type of approach..so they would be nice..but in a b*tchy sort of way..kind of like Regina George from mean girls when she talks sometimes..she is so nice and chatty but then she can turn and be a b*tch....so act like people shouldn't get on the bad side of you..or else..

Anyway I hope this was some sort of help..that is a hard question! I understand why you are a bit confused.

Have you ever had PMS? When you have that feeling once a month & then you would understand that feeling.

chatty to me means very talkative....like a mile a minute...

Just constantly be making small talk and complaining about your problems.

NO bitchy doesnt mean being stuck-up. Bitchy mean being blunt, mean, not caring about anyone..etc..

stuck up is more like you think your better, you don't talk to certain people, etc..

Chatty means gossip, talking a lot over personal matters!

Exactly what he means "chatty" my advice is to think less of the bitchy and more of the chatty. Also say lines with run on sentences meaning no periods. Think of Jim Carry with out sounding like he just got drilled by Mr. T. Some add ons could be whinny to bring out the ***** and so on.

ok drink 3 red bulls, well you could try concided, laughing. Try to imagine, u are the most beautiful person in the whole wide world and you know everything. These wananbe b!tches dont no nothing. Everyone wants to be you (or at least you think) you are the most fab. But your also annoying, and on too much caffine

You do not 'act' anything. That is bad acting. You can, however, DO something. "Chat" is a verb, an action. Think in terms of what you can DO that will make the audience say to themselves "My that is a chatty chick". For instance, you can speak in a certain rythym that will create an impression of 'being chatty'. You can relate to another character in such a way that we will perceive you as being 'chatty'. ACTING anything is pretty miserable to watch. Do. Be.
