Has anyone heard of Tru Talent Management? Please read details.?

Question:I was contacted via MySpace a few days ago by a woman claiming to be a scout for Tru Talent Management. She gave me a website, phone number, and her name for contact information. She said that I am "just what they are looking for" and would like me to consider signing with them.

I have no idea if this is a scam or if it's legit. Is this a real company and if so can you tell me anything about them please?

I went to the FAQ page on their website. Got as far as "With the overwhelming need for Actors and Models in Utah and Nevada"...oh my. Well, there are movies filmed in Nevada and Utah, and possibly they provide extras.

I don't recognize the names of anyone on the testimonial page, but the agency had better have actually done *something* for Disney, Coke, and DKNY, or they could be sued.

Recruiting on websites is not the usual thing. Do check them out beforehand. Too many of these places survive on monthly fees to host pictures online, instead of from booking fees for their talent. If they don't ask you for any money, they're probably fine.

there are a lot of scam artists out there who only want your money and it may not be the kind of person you think. odds are, it's not a real talent agency. most professional agencies probably wouldn't contact someone using myspace unless you signed up for an account in some talent search database and listed your URL as your contact info.

call them and do some more research on the company name, etc. do NOT send them any information just yet until you've found out if they're legit.
