don't act like her, BE her. when you step on the stage, you shouldn't be yourself anymore. you should be your character. you should know her life story, her wants, her desires, her dislikes, and why she is doing what she is doing and what she wants from it. get to know your character and BE that character. break a leg!!

didn't you just answer your own question... act like Kelly Bundy!

Watch movies like:
Clueless
Blonde and Blonder
or just how Jessica Simpson was in her show.

Twirl your hair, chew gum obnoxiously, say fer sure, or whatevs, and the word 'like' everyother word

Also remember when Miss South Carolina was made fun of? That is perfect.

If it's who you say that the character copys- get some dvd's on the Married w/ Children- show and watch the way that she carrys on- reacting to things - acting stupid and so on.
You will be able to mimmick those behaviors ,2nd nature .
Being that the sitcom has been off the air for some time- nobody will have a clue that you are copying her acting roles.

Avoid the obvious stereotypes. There is always more than meets the eye. "Bimbo" is a bad word. Many women are called this name when they put on a certain appearance and affectation. The Dumb Blonde Stereotype is a dangerous one. I am glad for "Legally Blonde" that it confronts this issue.
"Bimbo", just like "b****" and other nasty words, were terms invented by chauvanist males. Don't use these bad words; you're just buying into a male-dominated social structure.

Play the material as best you can. Confront the stereotype, identify it, and fight against it. You want to create a memorable character, so play her strengths, not her weaknesses.

Don't act it. Feel it. Go to the streets and sus out some 'bimbos'. Watch them and absorb their little mannerisms. Watch how they talk, what sort of slang they use, how they shop, how they walk and all those stuff. You can also learn from other actresses who have played a bimbo character on TV. But I prefer the more hands on technique which is hit the streets and find them. Also talk to them and see how they react to your questions. Understand why they look and act that way, what is their motivation behind this "bimboism" (not a real word but you know what i mean) of theirs.

A good actor does not act his part, he IS his part...at least for the duration of the shoot or performance.
