Question Home

Position:Home>Theater & Acting> John Robert Powers Acting & Modeling?

Question:Alright, this is a bit of an ethical question, I guess...

I know that JRP overcharge their students and lead young inexperienced actors into believing that the need to take their classes. They have a bad reputation.

However, I just saw an ad looking to hire acting teachers. I would be a very good candidate for this job and the pay (quite good) is very tempting, I must admit. I do need the money and I prefer to take jobs that are related to the acting field (as opposed to waitressing.)

Do you think applying for this job would make me evil? Or should an actor go with a job that will pay the rent and put food on the table?

As much as I hate JRP, I think you should take it because maybe you'd actually bring worth to what the kids are having to pay for classes.
