Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Be in commercials, tv shows, and movies.

You take classes and go to auditions all day and you wait tables at night. You give up your social life for a while and concentrate on making it in the business. You never stop and you never take time for yourself because once you look away for a second and you won't see an audition notice that may have gotten you your break. This is not a fun and games business and you'll never make it without hard work and sleepless nights. It may take 10 or 15 years. There are thousands of actors out there auditioning for hundreds of jobs and the competition is fierce. You better really want this and you have to prove you have some talent before anyone will give you a chance. Therefore, you have to do everything you can to practice your craft in classes and then show it off when you audition. You need to pound the pavement and you may never make it. A lot more "actors" don't make it because they think it should be easier than it is. That's why it's a labor of love. You gotta love acting and you gotta want to struggle to make it. Do you have what it takes? The only way to find out is to try. Give yourself 5 years and see if you love it as much then. If you do, then go for it. Otherwise, you'll have to walk away. Break a leg! First, you must apply to schools that are in either LA or NYC, preferably the former. You might want to ask an agent, but I believe that many of the auditions are in the afternoon. So simply schedule class schedules around them. Now, if you financially independent, meaning you don't need a job, then you are in great shape to pursue an acting career and college. However, if that's not the case, then you need to find non-traditional ways of supporting yourself and paying for college...become an RA..usually doesn't take much time, and many schools offer a stipend and/or free room and board. Of course bartending/waitressing is always pretty good money, and you'd only have to work weekends to make money. The thing is, something must be sacrificed..perhaps a social life.

You go to college to learn the craft of acting and the art of the theatre. Concentrate on that . Do not think of auditioning. Focus on learning your craft.
