Question:Ok, my boyfriend and I are going to see Wicked in Chicago for Valentines Day. Neither of us have been to the "real theatre" (mainly just the college and local performances), so we don't want to over or under dress. What is appropriate attire?

Appropriate attire for a woman attending a theater performance in the city would be a dress, suit or pants suit. Nice office attire is suitable, but something a little more dressy is also acceptable. Gentlemen cannot go wrong with business attire. A suit and tie is not mandatory, but certainly is appropriate.

I lived in New York for many years, and people attend the theatre dressed as infinitely as there are 'looks'. I personally always enjoyed dressing 'up' a bit. Lord knows that the unforgivable ticket prices warrant it. Have fun. Be stylish. You're attending 'art' after all.

Wear whatever you want and feel comfortable in! There used to be a theatre dress code but now adays people only tend to dress up for the Opera or Ballet. Go to Wicked dressed as over or under dressed as you so wish and I assure you, you will fit it just fine!
