Position:Home>Theater & Acting> I'm auditioning for Marian Paroo in The Music Man; given my pro's and co

Question:+The drama teachers at this school know me from past musicals.
+I have a very high soprano voice, but can reach extremely low notes as well.
+I'm not a bad dancer.
+I nearly got the lead role last time, but an upperclassman beat me out.

- I'm rather SHORT... but taller than most of the girls who have been in the more recent plays.

Also, do they usually care much about hair color? Most of the time you see Marian with kind of golden-blonde hair, and mine is pretty red. Then again, she is supposed to be Irish. :]

Just be yourself. If you are what the director is looking for you will get the part. It is one of the best women parts with great songs and scenes. Good luck.

You sound like the perfect Marian the Librarian! Go for it! I think singing voice would be much more important in the choice of a Marian than hair color.
