Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Anyone heard of JRP [John Roberts Powers]?

Question:My mom & I were at the mall a couple days ago, and this lady told us about JRP, and we signed up for it. 10 minutes ago, this lady called, and we signed up for an audition next saturday. I started reading about JRP, and found out it was a FAKE.

I got this flyer at the mall:

It is fake right? I told my mom about it and she said she would cancel it now. So, is it a fake? Do you know anything about it? Have you been there?

Thanks x3 :]

PLEASE STAY AWAY ! STAY FAR AWAY!
the only thing that keeps me from spitting on that place is the fact that it's aboce a banana republic....
its not so much a fake as its no where near worth the money.
they do lie though. they tell u that u were one of 20 out of 500 taken.
Every casting director i ask about it to see what they feel say that the kids arnt well trained at all.
Its true it sounds too good to be true and i almost got taken into it.

I can't really tell you much about it.

But all I know is that it is a SCAM!!!

Do NOT...go to the auditions..

its not a fake. but its a rip off. its mostly just an acting school. they make you pay a WHOLE bunch for headshots and a whole lot more for classes. don't bother.

Scam. Professional organizations do not advertise with flyers. JRP is well-known as a SCAM.

They will charge thousands of dollars and you will NOT benefit from it.

The professional modeling industry is in New York City.
If you want to model, professionally, you have to live and work in New York City.

Yes, it is fake.
John Robert Powers company is a big scam!

Absolute crap! All they are doing is taking your money and making you sign up for classes. You would be better off getting involved in a local community theatre getting hands on training by actually being in shows. A lot of theatres also have children's acting programs at half the cost of JRP.

THey are a legally licensed trade school with teachers who meet minimum qualifications and courses that are registered with your local state.

Some JRP can be good, some so so, some iffy. They will not warranty you a job. You will get comparable trainging in a High School or Community College for less money.
