Position:Home>Theater & Acting> I need to overcome this...?

Question:Okay, I love the idea of acting, and I really want to try next year. But everytime I really think deeper about it, I get terrified. I'm extremely shy, and I'm afraid that I won't be able to get up infront of everyone. Also, my school has a habit of doing musicals, and I don't find myself as much of a singer. Please help!

I love acting...it's practically my life! I used to be like that, but you just can't think about it...you have to walk out on stage and know that you have it in you to do it, other people are not even there and just focus on you, i still get very nervous but everything has a way of working out and if it is really something you like to do then nothing can stop you...when you go on the nerves just give way and you are so comfortable up there...as far as the singing thing you shouldn't worry, people work with you and you can be surprised at how good you can sound...you know as long as you don't sound like a dying cat...lol j/k!...hope everything works out for you...Good Luck!

well um u do need to get over it .. but that happened to me with my modeling audition i ad to go to hollywood and i took myself there but when i got there i wanted to leave i just said to myself well im here so might as well face it .. being shy when it comes to your dream isnt going to help you much,... people will treat shy people as bad as simon cowl would treat a bad singer ,,.. over come it .. take a deep breath and knock em dead

People who stutter, can sing beautifully. It means that anything is possible. Just because you are shy, doesn't mean that you won't have the self confidence to act.

If you want something bad enough, then you will make it happen.

As for your voice, pratice, practice and practice some more.
