Question:From the song 'I Wish I Were In Love Again' by Rodgers and Hart...there's this lyric:
"the double crossing of a pair of heels"
I didn't know what that meant...so I'm delivering those lines as well as I'd want....

Well, he is bemoaning the fact that he is single and wishes he 'was in love again' even though it is fraught with danger!!! In context it means missing being double crossed by a woman. Although, he is jokingly saying it because he really wants and 'wishes' for all the ups and downs of a relationship again.
