Sure, why not. Come to New York, or go to LA and join the other million or so aspiring actresses and models doing office temp work or waiting tables (if they're lucky), or working for "escort services", dancing in topless bars, or appearing in porn movies while they go on every cattle call audition out there and wait for their big chance -- which never comes, for most of them.

My advice -- stay where you are, get into regional theatre and build up a resume and some experience before you try to break into the NY or LA scene.

I think you need a better plan...like getting an education. If you want know how that works out why don't you ask a stripper or prostitute in NY or LA. I am not kidding!!!!

Yes, you have to go where the work is. However, you need more then a high school diploma, especially for acting.

Pie in the sky.....There's only about 50 thousand others per year doing the same thing as you...hope you like waiting tables.

Somewhat. You wouldn't believe how many people are here in order to act. Most of them work little side jobs to stay afloat. There are oceans of aspiring actors just - like - you.. So that means you must be individual. Become something in the little town you're in first. Go on local Television. Get an Agent in the nearest Major city. Then when you're atleast established as somewhat of a television or movie prescence, a true local celebrity (most aspiring actors here are not, they're just aspiring - want-to-be's if you will) then you'll have an edge on the others when you actually do go to either Cali or New York. But I'd have the reason I went to be that I already have a gig established, not to look for a gig.

Rachel has the right idea. One should get established elsewhere and only go the big city when they are assured of work.
