You're talking about your slate im guessing.
In a slate you say
-Name
-Who you are represented by(or im not represented by anoyone)
-Who you are reading for(the characters name)

And if they want anything else they'll tell you!

Not sure on exactly what to say, but they don't like hearing the words: umm, uhhhh, ahhhhh, hmmmm, like, like, ya know, and stuff.....etc. and long awkward pauses are something that is frowned upon also.
