Are there any free acting lessons in NYC?

Question:Just wondering if anyone knew if there are any free acting classes in the NYC area. A lot of people keep telling me I should become an actor and so I'm considering taking some classes just to see how it goes. Unfortunately I don't have money to spare so the classes must be free or very inexpensive.

Free acting classes no longer exist in NYC, however, you can give it a shot by going to The Drama Bookstore and posting a notice on their bulletin board (if they still have such a thing) that you need free acting classes, however you have to exchange something, in return for free classes.

What do you have to offer? Cooking lessons, foreign language lessons, piano, dance, think of something that a person may want/need, in exchange for free acting lessons.

as a matter of fact there are, do a web search for free acting lessons in NYC. but you really ought to start by trying out for a play to see how it goes. if you have no talent you will not get cast. simple, eh?
