Acting dream?

Question:I'm nearly 14, and in high school. Lately I've been thinking a lot about becoming an actress--not just for the fame or fortune, for the satisfaction of giving people quality entertainment, and something that they can keep in their hearts and minds.

I'm in a theater class for one of my school electives (it was a random elective and it's somewhat of a bullshit class; it's called "theater" but we present film-type acting most of the time), and I usually end up doing improv comedies, which everybody seems to enjoy. A lot of people have told me I'd be a good actress.

I'm a bit on the short side, though: exactly 5'. I'm somewhat pretty in my opinion. I think I'm capable of doing all types of roles--fierce, sad, eccentric, funny, etc. I'm just wondering if it would ever work out for me.

My parents aren't too groovy with the idea at the moment, so I'm hoping to start auditioning and stuff when I'm around 17. Hopefully I'll be taller by then, lol.

What's your take? Make it or no?

I have some questions for you to think about...

What does your height have to do with it? If you can act, you can do it if you are 4 feet tall or if you are 7 feet tall.

Why wait?
Get involved in community theater! Most towns have one! It would be a start and IF you decided to go to Hollywood, that would look real good on a resume with the big studios! You never know when Hollywood bigwigs might hear about your town's theater group and you could be discovered that way! Your parents might not like it now, but when they see you in action, they will be proud of you!
No matter what you do, do it well and do it with passion! Good luck! (remember me when you make it big! LOL)
