It's Catch 22"You can't get agent without getting a job and you can't get a job without getting an agent" But seriously, what you need to do is get your face out there and commercials are a good way to start(at least you'll have a few credits under your belt!) The snobbery about theater actors as opposed to film actors has(mercifully)toned down quite a bit and it's a lot more democratic(The Brits have been way ahead of us for YEARs in this respect) but yes, audition for anything you can, spend some dough on hadshots(when you can afford it) and finsd something consrtuctive to do with yourself while you're waiting for a call-back(and trust me,Cookie, you'll be doing a lot of waiting)Guess how many "names" got their start on soaps?A lot,so go out for those readings as well, you won't know until you try, right?
Good Luck!

come again?

I broke into acting a couple of decades ago. I will not give you my real name so take or leave this advise as you wish. Any job is better then no job just remember do not do anything you would not want your grandmother to see. That was the one rule that I followed and recently my career has been better and better with a show that was all about me and just got married so I guess I did all the right things. Good luck.

P.S. interview for everything and a good rep is always helpful follow your heart.
