I play and teach the violin; the violin is said to be the most difficult instrument aside from the harp; about the least expensive instrument you can buy which will play at all is around $150; the violin and fiddle are the same instrument, just the music itself is different.

nope not me ............but i think its very expensive........

i used 2 play violin.. it is soooo easy! i dont really kno wat a fiddle is tho.. and idk how much it costs srry.. i think the fiddle is more country and played faster

I used to play viola, very similar to violin, just a tiny bit bigger. I liked it a lot until I got a crappy teacher in 5th grade, and I switched over to trumpet. Well, it worked out for me, cause it's now my second year playing the trumpet in a jazz band. cool stuff. Costs can range from $100 (pretty bad quality) to thousands. My sis still plays and got a nice one for about $500.
Hope that helps.

I play the violin and at first it is quite difficult but i picked it up pretty quickly
its really fun and I highly recomend it!
depending on how good a violin you want i got mine for $200 new zealand dollars (never been used)
but im sure you could get cheaper 2nd hand ones
i dont know the difference between the violin and the fiddle so I cant help you there!

yeah i do, but i don't know how much it costs, Santa gave it to me for Christmas, i am a violin, saxophone, guitar and piano player, best at the sax

All musical instuments are difficult to master, unless you have a predisposition for it. The violin is certainly one that will sound particularly gruesome while u r learning it. "Fiddle" refers to a style of play. Most instruments worthy of the effort to learn how to play are very expensive- and trying to learn on a cheap one will just discourage you. If you have no musical background and no preferences, look for the instrument with which you can make pleasing sounds the first time you pick it up. Rent a high quality one until you either become proficient or give it up. DTGP
