Position:Home>Theater & Acting> What do I do for a resume when applying to an acting conservatory with few credi

Question:Due to where I live there are not alot of training and employment opportunities for actors. I have 2 shows under my belt though 13 years apart, and my only training is in dance(all I could find around here for movement). How can I compensate for this when applying to an acting conservatory?

Having some excellent letters of reference is a big help. On the application, they will want you to tell about yourself. Be sure to show your seriousness about acting in your answers.

They will generally require two monologues, either in person or on tape. Make sure your pieces are strong- get some help on these if possible.

Dance (which you've done) is a serious discipline, and will be a part of your conservatory training as well. You can emphasize your experience there as well as your achievements in other fields.

Fill your resume with your accomplishments. (No more than one page.)
Name, address, phone # and personal info.
If you've had any acting at all put your roles on there next.
Dancing- list esperience and schools.
The last few categories should be education, skills. (What type of dancing) and references. (give names and phone numbers. Ask them first!)
