Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Are the open auditions you hear on the radios scams??

Question:Yes. They're what is called "bait and switch" ads. They do not actually SAY they are holding auditions for Disney or Nickelodeon shows, but they're counting on the kids who hear the ads to make that assumption.

And when the kids show up for their "big audition", that's when they tell those kids they're ALMOST good enough, they just need some acting lessons and modeling lessons and headshots---which they just happen to provide, for a lot of money.

But they're schools, not agencies, and they don't work for Disney or Nickelodeon or whatever show is mentioned in the radio ad.

If it is John Casablanca or John Robert Powers the answer is yes. They bring you in and tell you they want to send you to some huge conference that you have to pay for...travel, hotel etc... They also want you to sign up and pay for all these classes. It is a crock!
