Your auditioning for the play in school? :D Cool! *Thinks of songs*
How about..
Gimme More-Britney Spears
:D

Are you alto, saprano, mezzo-saprano?

Okay then I say some songs for you are:
Adelaides Lament- Guys And Dolls
A C.ock-Eyed Optimist - South Pacific (i dont get my that word is blurred on here)
I Have Confidence - Sound Of Music
Popular - Wicked
Nothing - A Chorus Line
Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair - South Pacific

what play are you auditioning for? it would help to know because you can pick a song from the same genre or time period of the play

You are not a "mix"-- what you are is called a Soprano 2 or Mezzo-Soprano, just for future reference.

If you are trying out for a theater piece, especially a period piece I would strongly advise against a pop piece like "Gimme More". That will not impress the directors; that will only repulse them, and it will probably get you some uncomfortable giggles from your fellow auditioners. (Sorry-- not trying to be snarky or critical, just sharing my experience.)

Suggestions:

"By the Sea" from Sweeney Todd
"Good Morning Baltimore" from Hairspray
"Gus the Theater Cat" from Cats
"At the Ballet" from A Chorus Line

Good luck!

I would stick with some disney songs. Like Part of your world only goes from D-B I think. And A whole new world would be a good one. That only goes C-C, and changes keys, and goes either D-D or Bb-Bb. And I think that beauty and the beast would a good one. But I wouldnt sing Circle of Life, or Go the Distance. They have high note differences.
I would stick away from songs like the star spangled banner, and Irish folk songs, they can get pretty high and low.
