Acting question?

Question:I was wondering if its neccessary to take acting classes to get on t.v? ( btw I want to act because I love to do it, not to get famous.

I saw an article that said Corbin Bleu never took lessons so that's why I was wondering

I can understand being infatuated with an art form. But you never really know if it's right for you unless you've had people who can do it better than you tell you how. You should definitely take classes. I am a theatre actor myself and there is so much more to acting than just controlling your emotions. From your question I can see that you're not a theatre actor and I can tell you that movie and television acting is just as complicated. I've worked with a few t.v. directors and they are not just looking for good actors, but people who know the language (it's like learning French, c'est tres de facile) and can be molded into what they want, and the only way to learn that is by being taught.

While I'm not an actor, I am a painter and I can tell you people in my field ask a simillar question. While I don't think lessons or classes are necessary to become successful in any of the arts, it can never hurt. You are going to have to perfect your craft somewhere, and if you do it BEFORE your auditions, you can save yourself some pain. It never hurts to get educated. Do the work, and you'll get results, and contacts!

Corbin had connections, his father was an actor so he, in a way, already had his foot in the door. But, yes, you should take acting classes. When you participate in an audition or casting call, especially for Disney Channel, you will need a agent, Demo reel, expierience, pictures, and a reseme. My mate does acting classes n she is only 13 n she was an extra in st.trinians! so best to,,thats were directors n ppl look for actors ;)

The big obstacle of getting on TV is the $2,500 union card you have to buy in one payment before you can work.
