Position:Home>Theater & Acting> I just go the part of FDR...?

Question:I just got the part FDR in the musical Annie at my school. I'm not too familiar with the musical so I'm just wondering about the role a bit before we do the read through this upcoming tuesday. Is it a big role? What songs do I sing.

Thank you!

(also i know there might be more than one version of the musical so I guess just go with the more common one?)

FDR is what is called a "featured" role or sometimes a "cameo" because it is brief. He does get to sing although it is with Annie and the rest of his cabinet. What I've always thought was wrong about most interpretations of this role is that he is confined to a wheelchair. Do your research and you may be able to convince your director that during his first or second term, FDR was much less wheelchair-bound than during his third and fourth terms. You should also be able to make appearances earlier in the play in chorus scenes.

I know he comes on at the end. It's not a huge role but if you can pull it off, it's a very impressive one.

You need to do some research. Franklin D. Roosevelt, you know the President of the United States.
