I can only write, any other work is depressing. Does anyone else have this probl

Question:It's the nature of the beast,I'm afraid.After all,one must eat and try to keep clean and hve a place to ive.Therefore one must forebear and do drudge work.Depressing?Sometimes,especially if you make the mistake(some have)of letting the pursuit of your dream get bogged down in the everyday drudgery of making ends meet.That's why it's so important to make a specific time,every day,to sit down,without interruption(as long as the house isn't burning down around you)that you can write in peace. If you have to hang out a sign saying:QUIET!STARVING ARTIST AT WORK! do it.

Yes. It's a day job until your writing can take you somewhere. It's been 10 years for me, but I still work the depressing boring jobs.

That means you are a writer. Keep working at it if you love it. You may have to have some other job to pay the bills in the meantime though.
I tried to have a career as a writer for about ten years, and finally gave, up. It seemed it all had a lot more to do with luck than talent. Best luck though.

You could not write if had never seen, watched and listened, so you need to get out more and add to the repertoire!
Like the first writer said, most of us have the old 9 - 5 grind to make ends meet, so make it count. 'Til the public takes notice

PS: I would find a job as a writer (newspapers, periodicals,etc)
to be able to do what you love and get paid for it too!
And are you submitting your work (to be rejected), 'cause 'til the world has a chance to see them, it aint gonna happen.
