Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Do you need a cover letter for casting agents?

Question:I'm sending my headshot and resume to a Disney Channel Casting agent, and I know that you need cover letters when trying to get an agent to represent you, but do you need one for an actual casting? If so, what should it say? Also, should I put the age range on my resume? On the example of the resume I am following (made by someone who works for the Disney Channel), it showed an age range, but someone else told me not to put one. Should I? Also, is there a limit of years I should keep it under? Like I was going to put 14-20, is that too big of a range?

Yes you should have a cover letter, it should just say a little about what you are looking for what you have done in the past. If you are currently at school, etc. And you do not need to put your age range on your res. you can but I wouldn't, because you cut yourself off, you may think you look one age group while the casting people see a different one. You don't want to shut down a possibility before you even have it.

I don't think a cover letter is needed. Just a picture and bio with contact information.

Do understand without union eligibility it will happer your chances.
