Question:i might get called back for the part of amneris and i really want it...can somebody give me tips and explain the role and emotions of amneris?

aida is my favorite show, so i know a ton about it. She's kinda ditzy at the beginning because she sick of everybody expecting so much, and that she has to live her life ruling the people, but then at the end, she kind of figures out that she can make a difference in people's lives, so she becomes all smart and stuff.

She's very ditzy in a way. The very fashionably sensible princess. She's like elle woods from Legally Blonde in a way. She has a heart of gold in the end though. Just be very funny and lovable. Such a fun musical! good luck!

This is what I can remember:
At the start she is naive and full of herself, expecting everything to come to her since that's the way she was raised. She gets to know Aida and confides in her, as she prepares to marry a prince who really loves Aida. Amneris wises up, realizes she should be more than looks and can truly help her people.

The role requires good looks and a good belting voice for the opening number.
