Actors don't require licenses and training is not required, although a few acting classes couldn't hurt you.

Actors are contract workers, so skill is the number one thing that can guarantee you a role. Having a good memory is a very valuable skill to have. A good acting history is second to that.

Call an agent and they'll explain everything to you. Agents usually don't charge anything up front; however you have to prove to them that you are a worthwhile client and they take a percentage of your earnings once you get a job.
