Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Call back???

Question:So I got a call back for the play Cinderella (the Roger and Hammerstein version) and the call backs were scheduled for three days. The first day was today for all guys. The second day is tomorrow and it is for all older kids. The last day is Friday (I'm going then) and is for all the younger kids. The director ALWAYS casts older kids in leads. I am the best actress/singer in my grade and better than most in the school. (I AM NOT trying to be conceited I just want to give you the facts.) And I don't know if I still have a chance to be a stepsister or something. I NAILED my audition. And I want to know if you think she was simply splitting it up by age or by what parts she is considering you for. What do you think?

The only thing you can say for sure is that you have a better chance of getting a part than the kids who didn't get the callback.

I do think that if she had already decided absolutely on the leads, the callbacks would be more mixed---they would be about pairing people to the leads, based on appearance, who's voice sounded better with the Prince or Cinderella, etc.

But do participate in this play, even if you only get a small part. You're going to be on of those "older kids" soon, and you'll want to show the director now that you're serious, dependable, and not a diva.

that really just depends on the director. It could just be an age thing to shrink the groups or not... I wouldn't worry about this, just focus on your call back that's the important thing!
