Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Need to develop further?

Question:I am 20 years old. Acting and singing since 13.
I have done stage crew work, set building, lighting, sound, and even some costuming.
I am proficient in stage combat choreography (swords) for both designing fights and performing them.
I have taken approx 3 years of acting and speech classes in Highschool.
I am a Bass in vocal range with a lot of power for the low notes.
I can do a variety of accents and impersonations.
I believe my strength is in performing comedic plays, but my family thinks I deliver better in a stronger emotinal drama role.
I am confident in my ability and believe that I have a real gift and talent, but I seem to feel out of place with accomplished actors in my area. (I live in the Pacific Northwest in Spokane, WA)

I want to develop myself as an actor but I am not sure what direction to take. I want to go to college but at the time it doesn't seem like a possibility. Besides Just auditions, is there anything else I should do?

is there a local theater you could join? And that way you'll gain experience. Usually if you look around you can find a little community theater somewhere in the area.

Usually they don't take up all of your time, so you could also work somewhere else to save for college!

No I didn't even read the question too long

you're doing great, just remain focus, take your time, college is possible as soon as you are determined to persue it.

Maybe you could take classes at your local community college. They're much more affordable than 4-year colleges and can help you to start developing your craft. Community colleges often offer classes that allow you to work during the day at the same time.
