~The ability to listen well

~Someone who works well as part of a team
~Someone who is dedicated
~Someone who is professional
~Someone who knows how to use their body, voice, face etc to the best of their ability

~Someone who can look the part. Whatever the part may be.

The requirements are the ability to speak and act. I'm not a picky person, but I am absolutely inflexible on that one point.

No, actresses do no have to be "pretty". Think of every movie you have ever seen in your life. Were all the actresses pretty? No, they weren't. The actress has to have the "look" of the particular part, that's all. If the part calls for a pretty teenager, a pretty teenager, or a young adult who can pass as a teenager, will have to be cast. If the part is a fat middle-aged woman, a fat middle-aged woman will be cast. If the part is a 90-year-old woman with crossed eyes, they're going to cast an old woman with crossed eyes.

Yet at the same time there are many pretty actress' who cant act.

You can't care about looking 'cool' and must be able to look silly as you might need to for some roles
