yes she was related to the director. she hung herself bexcause she couldnt be dorthy. in one of the scenes you can she ssomeething swinging in the background.. thats her.

I heard one rumor that it was a disenchanted midget in love with another girl. I heard another rumor it was just a sandbag swinging from the rafters. When I saw it, it looked like a silhouette of a real person swinging across the backdrop.

No... rumor. If you could see her swinging back in forth they would have done another take and replaced it. Or recalled all of the videos. They cant have that....

No. It's just a flamingo, or so I've heard. (I've never actually seen the movie, so I'm going by what I've read in interviews and whatnot...)

that is not true. for one thing, the background in the wizard of oz is a painted backdrop. so nobody could have been hanging in the background because the backdrop would be extremely close to the cameras that they would have seen someone hanging and not have shot that scene
