You need to get an agent. My son has three and we live in North Carolina - when he is ready we'll move to a larger area but for now he gets enough work in a smaller populace. Contrary to popular belief you do NOT have to live in a big city. In fact, its better to start off in a smaller market because then you can have a better chance of building a resume before you are ready for a national market like LA or NYC.

Here are the links to the agencies we use:
www.z1modelsandtalent.com (Fort Mill, SC)
www.thediamondagency.com (Orlando, Fl)
www.marilyn-s.com (Greensboro NC)

Remember, no agent will even LOOK at you without photos. These do not need to be professional headshots - in fact, they can even be done with a Polaroid. Agents want to see how you REALLY look without a bunch of fancy photography. As a model and actor, you need to be a blank canvas with which to work. Once you get signed, THEN get headshots done. Who wants to spend $500 on photos if they aren't going to get signed?

And the other poster was right - any agent who wants money up front or tries to force you to take classes or use their photographers are SCAM ARTISTS. They get paid when you do. Don't fall for it - these scammers are selling a dream and they prey on people just like you.

Keep up those classes and be prepared to work hard and to face a lot of disappointment. It takes a LOT of resilience to make it in this business. But you can do it if you really are prepared to do what it takes.

Good luck.

Quite frankly, you need to live in an area where big things are cast like Los Angeles, New York, Chicago. Failing that, other large cities also have opportunities. If your folks aren't going to pack up and move to launch your career, find an agent locally (or within reach) that can get you auditions for commercials and regional productions. There are casting calls that reach across lower population areas in the country, but they are difficult to get noticed. Beware of agents that ask for money up front (for photos or whatever) -- they're not legit.

Otherwise, you'll just have to wait until you have the power to move on your own. In the meantime, get good at your craft with the resources you have in your area.

Are you sure you want to do that? Look at how messed up most actors who started young are now as adults. I'm sure they all thought it wouldn't happen to them. It really hurts your chances of growing up right. It would be much better to stay where you are and have a normal life. Do as much theater as you want in school or in your town. You'll have lots of success if you're good. When you finish high school, start thinking about a career. Enjoy being a kid!

His first movie was when he was 11 in feature films in small roles, he's now almost 14.

You generally need to go to Los Angeles, stay there and make the rounds, hopefully get picked up by an agency like Cunningham-Escott-Slevin-Doherty Talent and then do auditions.

You need head shots, a full time parent with transportation and need to be ready to spend $2,500 on a union card so you can work in union productions, you also have to be ready to get nothing.

Cyrus got passed over originally and then called back for another audition.

Those are on your own nickel.
