Question:Before act 3 why does Tybalt have a problem with Romeo?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Before act 3 why does Tybalt have a problem with Romeo?

They are on rivaling families.
Their parents are fueding, for it's causing the whole family to hate the rival side.

So that's why it's foregin for Romeo and Juliet to love eachother, because they are on each side of the rivaling family.

because he's from the rival family! Tybalt is a capulet and romeo is a montague

(i think)

That and Tybalt is an arrogant jerk that likes picking fights.

Tybalt is a Capulet, Romeo's a Montague, old family fude, Shakespeare gives us no more detail. If you want a back story or to delve deeply into Tybalts' psyche, go for it, that's what's great about Shakespeare - there's so much in there that isn't spelt out, but it's there to be explored.
