Can you be an actress without going to stage school ??

Question:Im really keen on acting, nothing big though like movies just tv shows. I havnt been to stage school because it costs so much. I got involved in alot of school plays and i just love acting so much.
Hopefully my parents will pay for stage school someday ! fingers crossed

Not a bunch you can do while you are under 18, depending on where you are. Acting classes will be a must some day when you have saved up enough scratch. Keep working in those school plays, make and keep a list of all the plays you have done and what role and which school for your resume. Look for community theatre opportunties. Yes you can. You need to get yourself a good casting agent.

You don't have to go to stage school, a lot of actors just land lucky, half of them are adults, look for open auditions and just go for it....hope it works out for you :)

an acting qualification is a waste of time - get lots of experience - join lots of amateur productions and school productions - work hard at it.

You don't have to go to stage school... although acting experience does help. Why don't you just join a local drama club to get the acting techniques you need and then get an agent?

It's an hard profession. Training helps towards an Equity card (Union). If you love it- go for it. Don't think of stardom, think of gaining experience so when your break comes you can grab it with both hands and years of experience under your belt. Good luck.

of course you can!! the guy who plays fiyrro (thats not how you spell it, but w/e) in Wicked in LA didn't go to stage school. he had an agent and took some dance and singing classes while he was taking pre-med. PRE MED! lol. break a leg and i can't wait to work with you when we both make it to broadway.
