Would this be ok for me to sing at an audition?

Question:I want to sing nothing from a chorus line because im really good at it. The only thing is im 13. I was wondering if i should go for something a little younger?

If that is what you are good at, then go for it. If you decide you want something younger, try something from Annie, there are a lot of good songs in that play.

I think the fact you aer singing something that is more mature and the fact you can sing it well will blow them away! Directors and theatre gurus love kids with talents! It brightens up the room.

no, if you can sing something bigger than your age, then go for it. you want to be able to blow the audience away, and make them surprised. good luck! drink a lot of water, warm up before your audition. honey does good too before a performance. and make sure you're breatheing through your diaphram and standing up straight in the right position!

well, it would depend on the place/context of your audition. If it's for a school play, that probably wouldn't be the best musical to pick from.
How about "On My Own" from Les Miserables or "Till There Was You" from The Music Man?

tallent will shine whatever you sing... voice is only one aspect, its charisma that people look for too...

if you think you can do it go for it. the more talent you show them the better.

What is your range? Mezzo i assume? Also, what you are auditioning for makes a great deal of difference as well. Jacob and Sons from Joseph...Dreamcoat is a GREAT audition song. It gives you the opportunity to show off a decent range with great belt opportunities if you have the ability.
