Actually if you are a singer, you are an actor. Think about it, if you feel a particular song, you are some type of character. If you have sung the song "Tomorrow" from Annie you are in Annie's shoes. In musicals the song are showing the emotion. All you have to do is solve the puzzles put into the songs from the feelings and the past of that particular character. Watch the pros also. They have so examples to help inspire you. Watch movie musicals like "Hello Dolly", "Funny Girl", "Annie"(the one with Victor Garber, Audra McDonald, Kathy Bates, Alan Cumming), "Cinderella"(the cinderella with Whoopi Goldberg, Whitney Houston, Victor Garber, Brandy, Bernadette Peters). Watch their facial expressions, and how they feel their character, and how they are acting through their singing.

oh my goodness i know how u feel! i say go for it! just work hard at rehearsals and just have fun! i like to watch actors and actresses that r enjoying themselves on stage!

I'm not completely sure about the audition process but I knew a few people who didn't have to do much acting but sang a lot. If you don't get stage fright, have had solos, and you're a good singer, then chances are that you will be in the musical. Just make sure that you bring your energy to the audition. When you're auditioning for the acting, I guess just memorize your lines the best you can. Try not to be monotone and when you practice imagine you're always performing for someone. Try to be clear when you talk.

Hopefully you'll make a part in the musical. When you do, the director shoudl help you improve with your acting. But since this is a musical, there should be much more singing than acting. Have fun with it and don't stress.

Alot of times the script will tell you what emotion to show. If not the director(theatre instructor) can tell you how your supposed to be portrayed in certain scenes. If it doesn't say, and your not sure what to do with some of the dialog just ask the director. Most of the time they will be more than willing to help. Being able to sing well is alot more important with musicals anyway. Just remember that you are still acting when you are singing and you'll do great! Good luck!

here ya go cousin....
