Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Help! Can you tell me about 'Grease'?Question:Okay, my middle school is doing a cleaned up version of 'Grease' and I'd like to audition. One problem; I'VE NEVER SEEN THE MOVIE. My parents say it's inappropriate and that I shouldn't watch it (they freak out over the stupidest things). Anyway I really want to be in it because it sounds fun, but I think i should know a little about the movie before i audition. So can somebody help and just explain the movie a little? Not a full out play-by-play but just an explanation just about what its about. Thanx!!! Okay, here's the basic plot, not that I know what they cut out for your 'cleaned up' version, but: Sandy and Danny meet over the summer and fall in love. Sandy is super-goody two shoes, and Danny is normally a kinda thug, but acts like a good boy to get her to date him. Sandy is only supposed to live there for the summer, but then her father gets a permanent transfer. He wants to put her into the Catholic school, but they say she can't wear the shoes they bought for school, so they put her in the public school, where they cross paths, again. Sandy becomes friendly with the "thug" girls, even though it isn't her style, and she sort of loosens up a bit, and at the end, Sandy and Danny get together, and you sort of assume they get married after graduation. Lots of conflict because of their different class statuses. Good show, but there is a reason why they had to clean it up for your age group. Oh, and they may not be using the movie version, the original play was a bit different, in terms that the australian thing...that wasn't there. Some difference in names and some details. break a leg at the audition! Report It * You must be logged into Answers to add comments. Sign in or Register. Other Answers (3) |
