If your auditioning for musical theater it's best to do a song from a musical OTHER then your auditioning for. And try to avoide anything really over-done like Wicked, Hairspray, and High School Musical

Break a leg!

Why not? Do whatever you feel is best.

It all depends on what you are auditioning for. If you are auditioning for Big River or Oklahoma or South Pacific, ok. But if you're auditioning for Les Mis or Phantom, then no. One song will work for all of your auditions. You need to have a book with several songs to choose from depending on the mood or composer of the show you're auditioning for.

Well it depends on what your auditioning for. but personally that song isnt a great choice for anything. If you want an upity song try something from hairspray if you want something recent like I Can Hear the Bells. or if you ahve seen Wicked try Popular that's a good song if you can hit all of those notes. Or you can even try your favorite song from any of the disney princess movies just please stay away from zip-a-de-do-dah! you will thank me. and good luck! =]

I love that song! I think its perfect!!!

Rule of Musical Theatre: If you're auditioning for a musical, sing a song from a musical, unless requested otherwise. Reason being is that, even if, for the most part a show falls under a rock, pop, countery, whatever category of musical, it's still inherently theatre and will usually require a more "musical theatre" sound.

2nd rule: Never sing a song from the show you're auditioning for.

3rd rule: Sing a song from the same genre of show you're auditiong for (ex. if you're auditioning for Carousel, use another Rodgers and Hammerstein, if you're auditioning for Jesus Christ Superstar use something form another rock opera, etc.)
