Walk around while you're doing it if you learn kinetically (I do. I walk around the living room when I study and read from my book. It's bad for my eyes.. but it works.)

Something else that works for me is to memorize it sentence by sentence. Every sentence, I cover it and say it without reading. Then I memorize the next line, and repeat the first line and second line I memorized. It's tedious and time consuming, but it works as well.

ANOTHER way I use is this: First, I read it, then I take out a piece of paper, and I write down all I can remember. Then I reread it, write more again. I do this over and over. By the time I've memorized it all, I can write it all down too =P

Or turn it into a tune or something.

Study, Study, and Study some more!!!

make it into a song or something.

Say it in front of a mirror or/and go over it alot.

i like to put music to it. i make the script into a song. that way i can remember the beat and it helps make it easier to learn. every1 knows the lyrics to a song.

If it can be recorded to play into your ear, you'll learn it like a song.

restate it over and over and over and over again in your mind.

or out loud.

Write it down; It commits it to memory better.

star reading one sentence at a time and memorize it say it aload about 5X and then do the next and keep going

good luck

change some of the words so its easier for you to remember

pratice, and memorize little by little

Good Luck!

just say it over and over again, or write it down 7 times and write it on yellow paper, or read lines with someone. UR WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

read it five times for every time you try to say it without looking

amke a mistaak - misteak - - error
start the five over again

turn all background off - no music - no tv

all the best

have a great 2008!

i would try to memorize sentense by sentense but not word by word but actually thinking about what is happening and what my character is trying to say hope this helps

You need to be in absolute quiet, maybe in your room or something, then go line by line, and don't move on until you have at least those first ten lines memorized.

Read one or two lines, say them out loud, repeat them without looking. Read them again, and go further each time; you will gradually build up a solid memory of the script.

It will help, since this is a script, if you have someone else to read the lines that are not yours.

Just keep going over it . It's like your favourite song , how did you memorize it ?? By listening to it over and over again . You'll catch on sooner or later . :)

Rehearsing with a friend or fellow actor.

Have a photographic memory and READ THE SCRIPT

Recite the first act of the play over and over until it is memorized, then do the second and and recite both over and over until memorized, then,,,,,,,

If all else fails, that's what an understudy is for, call in sick.

i asked the same question! and got some reallly good answers! so go to my profil and then that question!

read it over again and again and again, and have someone else read the parts that aren't yours.
It also helps if you visualize the story taking place as you rehearse, so that way you know what is coming.
Divide it into sections and memorize the sections one by one. Go over each one until you know it by heart before moving onto the next one. (I suggest spending at least ten minutes on each section.) Go over the ones you've already memorized before moving on to a new section so you don't forget them.
For lines that you just can't seem to remember, type them a gazillion times over and over and over on your computer (or write them down). It will really drill it into your head.
Also, don't stress out! If you take this slowly but steadily, you'll do better. Take breaks once in a while.
If you read over the script before you go to sleep, you'll remember it better.
Good luck!

You can read it into a tape recorder or a microphone attached to your computer. (Use a totally different voice for lines that are not yours so you don't get confused.) Then, you can listen listen to the tape or burn it to CD or copy it to your iPod or whatever. Listen to it over and over again when you're driving, sleeping, eating, etc.

If you read my profile and write me at my aol address, I will send you two pages of things to do to memorize lines.

I use Hi-liter, it helps to stick in my head
