Position:Home>Theater & Acting> What do you think about Stephanie Meyer's choice for casting?

Question:I am thrilled at Stephanie's choice for Kirsten Stewart, I really wanted Emily Browning but she is good too, but i wanted Henry Cavill or Gaspard Ulliel to play Edward. Sadly, they got Robert Pattinson. I loved him in HP 4 and he's great and stuff, but not Edward-ish. What do you think?

I'm actually really positive about the casting of Robert Pattinson. A lot of people have been bitching about the way he looks, and maybe he needs a little de-scruffying, but I think he's a really good actor, and that's incredibly important. This is a clip from the movie Vanity Fair, which he was in, that sold me on the idea of him as Edward.

I don't think she's the one doing the casting. An author sells the rights to her story, and that's usually the end of it. They don't get a lot of creative input after that.

I'm drawing a blank on Robert Pattinson, but obviously he's "Edward-ish" enough for the people who count, or he wouldn't have the part.

On the other hand, he could suck as bad as Brad Pitt in "Interview with the Vampire". Who knows?
