It is great that you have found something you feel so passionate about but you need to take a small step back if you want your mom to be OK with this as well. First of all many many actors are not home schooled. It is very possible and normal to stay in your regular school while also training to be an actor. Yes you are right that in order to be successful you will need an agent but you will not be able to get an agent until you have more experience under your belt. It sounds as if you have little experience right now and you need to begin there. Start by seeing if your school offers a drama program or if there are local acting classes you can sign up for. From there you can look into auditioning for shows in your area. Get as much experience as possible and then you can begin to think about getting an agent and then hopefully landing those TV shows and movies you dream of.

Regarding convincing your mom. If you show her this is something you feel truly dedicated to and can keep up with your school work while participating in classes and shows then she may have an easier time with it. Realistically you will not be running off to Hollywood to begin filming anytime soon so you have time to prove to her that this is something you will stick with. Parents just want you to make smart choices and this career choice is one of the most unstable ones out there. Rightly so your mom would be worried. But there is no need for her to worry yet or for you to worry about how you are going to do it. Like I said, start at the beginning and enjoy the learning process. Even if you never land on film acting is an amazing adventure. Enjoy it!

well your parents will always love you and support you no matter what just tell them to sit down and say what your heart really feels don't worry you don't know how they will take it but however they do they will still love you

good luck!

Hey, i was in ur situation 3 years ago....the chances are like 1 in 500 but you gotta follow your dream!!!!!! Im 15 and i have been in the suite life and the OC but as a minor character...i really wanted to be an actress and all i had to do was keep trying no matter what...First, you have to show that your confident in front of an audience and second preform it first in front of your friends and ask them to be truth full and tell you how it was....practise makes perfect!!! Try to get your mom if she says no to come and see you in a school play or sumptin just to show her it means a lot to you!
