Well, it depends on what you want to DO....

-For dancing: get a few friends together and do an "interpretive dance" of a popular song. (My friends and I have a dance - persay :P - to the Backstreet Boys' "Incomplete," and it's hilarious!)

-For singing: look for some fun songs that you can exaggerate and make funny. (Like a High School Musical song, or something that most people will know, and just go all-out dramatic!) Some fun songs out there that really involve singing WELL are "Sisters" from the movie "White Christmas"; "Taylor the Latte Boy" and "The Girl in 14G" by Kristin Chenoweth; "Little Known Facts" from the Broadway show "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown"; etc.

-For acting: Do a spoof of a popular movie, either the whole thing or just one scene. I saw an acting troupe do a 5 minute spoof on the Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, and it was hilarious! You can do a Google search "____ spoofs" (fill it in with whatever show you'd like to do). Again, High School Musical works great for this.
I like the American Idol idea; I saw something like this once, only it wasn't singing - it was artwork! They had three contestants: two showed really classic pieces of art - like the Mona Lisa -, and the third, whom they titled Sonjaya, was just a big happy face with hair, and they gave him the prize. It was hilarious!

For funny stuff, it's easier if you have a few other people to do something with, because it's easier to really let yourself loose if you have other people with you. (And it's not funny at ALL if people can tell you're nervous; then they just feel sympathetic for you.)

We got 4 or 5 people that could sing really well & some judges & acted out american idol

we did a skit once. it was very popular and hilarious. Maybe you should try something like that. You could probably google skit ideas and come up with a few! Good Luck!
