Does anyone know who the characters Kate and Ellen are in the musical Oklahoma!?

Question:Do they sing, dance, are they part of Laurey's posse? I just wanted a general idea, so if anyone knows that would be brilliant!

They have a few lines and sing Out of My Dreams to Laurey towards the end of act 1. They are minor parts and mainly do everything else with the chorus.

i think they sing and dance but thats as far as i would guess.
